Have you ever been asked that awkward question, 'are your expecting'?
Sadly, I have in the past and recently too. The only difference is that now, I can say YES and not be embarrassed. I'm not just chunky, there's a baby in my belly!!
Announcement time (late, I know) .... WE'RE HAVING A BABY!
We found out in October, when I was 6 weeks along. So this is how the story goes.
We've been trying for a while and every month a negative pregnancy test was more and more of a bummer. Like every morning, I got up and went potty and decided to take a test. I didn't think anything of it, since I figured it was going to be negative any way. As I was washing up, I glanced at the test and literately had to do a double take. I could not believe my eyes! I was so excited, I went to go wake up my husband to show him. Poor guy was a little groggy at 8am. I turned on the lights, scaring the daylights outta him, and jumped in bed yelling 'babe lookkkkkkk!!' It took a minute for his eyes to focus and once they did and he saw was I was showing him, his reaction was 'holy sh*t'. Ha. It was perfect.
Fast forward to our Christmas announcement at 13 weeks, you could say the family was super excited and some upset we kept the secret to ourselves for sooo long. My mom has been dying to become a grandma and she called me a b*tch for not telling her sooner. None the less, she cried happy tears. If you knew my family, you'd understand how hilarious her reaction really was. Let's not mention my sister's reaction - as the saying goes, like mother like daughter.
